After seeing countless of their countrymen having difficulties in looking for an opening or applying as a seaman, young Filipino entrepreneur, Joel Nilo and Ferdinand Nilo, became increasingly concerned for their fellow countrymen’s plight.

Always trying to find a way to assist fellow Filipinos, Joel and Ferdinand saw a vision. They knew their endeavor is a huge undertaking, so they decided to call on the needs of some friends, who, along with them, are dedicated to the cause of helping fellow Filipinos. Hence, Pinoyseaman.com began to take shape and was formed. “Sometimes, I would see long queues in Luneta, Filipinos would wait for a whole day just to get a chance to apply for a job as a seaman. There are many from the province who would purposely rent an apartment in the Luneta area just to be able to apply for a job. They would be out there in the searing heat, in the pouring rain,”say Ferdinand.

There are only a few ads available in the newspapers for a seaman. This means there are too many already applying for a job that companies sometimes shy away in placing ads. Shipping companies don’t want to be inundated with long lines of applicants for only a handful of openings.

This is where Pinoyseaman.com enters the picture. This site, not only facilitates easier application for people around the country, but it also filters and segregates their application, tailored to the specific needs of the employer.

Pinoyseaman.com serves a dual purpose. “It serves as a cheaper, faster, more reliable and convenient way for seamen around the country to apply for different positions with different companies. It also serves as a cost-effective, tailored vehicle for shipping companies in facilitating their human resource needs,” says Joel.

Pinoyseaman.com will only forward applications who meet the requirements and needs of the shipping company. This way, company executives don’t waste time in sifting through countless resumes and applications which are not suitable for them.
